We welcome non-members to our evening events and shows. Entry for evening talks is £3 non-members/£2 members, including home-made cakes, tea and coffee.

Lesley Chamberlain trained in Horticulture and Garden Design says:”You will be surprised at what plants have been used for well-being through the ages.” In her illustrated talk she will be looking at the history of herbal medicine and how it influences today’s culture.

BRITISH ALSTROMERIA AND THE U.K. CUT FLOWER INDUSTRY
Ben Cross, owner of Crosslands Flower Nursery an established family business near Arundel, specialises in growing Alstomeria all year round in a rainbow of colours. Championing sustainable British Flowers is at the heart of everything Ben does. He will be bringing bunches of flowers to this interesting illustrated talk.

FAMILY FUN DAY ON KING GEORGE V PLAYING FIELDS
To commemorate the 150th year of Jolesfield School. Funds raised will go towards a new swimming pool for the school.

A VISIT TO A LOCAL APIARY
Patrick Letschka has some established beehives in his back garden in Church Road. Patrick will be opening up one or two for us to see how the bees work and explaining the life and workings of a bee colony. Bee suits will be provided so that you can get close up to these fascinating creatures

‘THROUGH THE SEASONS AT THE ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS KEW AND WAKEHURST
Sarah Oldridge has worked at Kew Gardens for over 30 years and is giving a month by month illustrated tour around Kew and Wakehurst looking at the plants, garden scenes, views and festivals. A little history, work and news of both sites.
