SCRUMPTIOUS SUSSEX
by Kevin Newman.

Kevin Newman a Sussex born author, historian and tour guide will be giving an illustrated and interactive talk all about Sussex food and drink over the centuries influenced by plants, farming and hedgerows. This will be followed by a quiz. Kevin will bring along some of his books for sale.

LEONARDSLEE GARDENS

Jamie Harris , Head Gardener from Leonardslee will be giving us an illustrated talk on the history and highlights of this beautiful garden. From the changes over the years to present day.

NATIONAL GARDEN SCHEME, SUSSEX

Philip Duly is coming to give us an insight into the workings of the National Garden Scheme ( Yellow Book) .From the founding, its structure and aims, the balance between volunteers and garden owners, the challengers and finally some of the beautiful gardens that can be visited in 2024. Over three million pounds have been raised to date for Charity.

 

THURSDAY 7th JUNE at 11.00 am
A VISIT TO DENMANS GARDENS, FONTWELL

This beautiful 4 acre garden features dry riverbeds, ponds, gravel gardens, a walled garden, a conservatory and unusual plants from all over the world. There is a delightful Café, Gift shop and Plant Centre.

Bulbs

H.W. Hyde & Sons from Rusper
Sarah Hyde will be giving an illustrated talk on the different types of bulbs that can enhance our gardens all year round, not just daffodils and tulips! She will be demonstrating planting and will be bringing bulbs along for sale. Hopefully you will be inspired for your 2025 display of bulb planting.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & SOCIAL EVENING
