Another great Summer Show
Saturday 6th August was a beautiful day; the weather was kind for our annual Summer Show. Well done to the committee and everyone who put in a lot of hard work to make it a most enjoyable show. This is always an inclusive show with classes for all ages and interests. Although recent heavy rain led to grumbles about spoilt blooms the standard of floral and vegetable entries was high. The tables were laden in the home produce classes giving the judges a lengthy task. Congratulations to all our worthy winners.
We also had a sale of plants and home produce and the raffle was extra special with prizes donated by the local businesses listed below. It really was a very special traditional show.
Our thanks go to all contributors and sponsors, these include: Sussex Prairie Gardens; Louisa Jayne Hairdressers; Freeman Brothers Funeral Directors; Coco Loco Chocolate, Horsham and District Laundries; Co-op; Seawhite Art Products; Dark Star Brewery; Hutchings the Butchers and Kaori Slater Massage Therapist.

Our next meeting on Thursday 27th October is entitled ‘Putting the Garden to Bed’ for winter and will be presented by Jean Griffin from the Sunday Morning ‘Dig it’ programme on BBC Radio Kent, Sussex & Surrey. At this time of year a bit of extra care will pay off handsomely in spring. All are welcome, members and non-members alike.
A reminder to put the date for our AGM and Social Evening in your diaries, the meeting will start at 7.30pm in PG Village Hall and is to be held on Thursday 24th November. Come along and renew your membership or join us.
